Edward gave a laugh seeing the twins having a good time. He looked to them as he spoke. " Alright you two, get yourselves ready and wear something you don't mind getting dirty. Your sister and I are going to walk over to the school and talk with your teacher. Then someone is going to have to call her boss and let him know that she's going to be taking a personal day, so as she won't get into trouble. We'll be back in no time, ya don't mind do you? " He asked the twins.

"No we don't mind at all." Damyan and Luiza replied with an even broader grin.

Anja gave another confused look at her sibling. "Okay well after I get the food and dishes done."

"Oh no, we can get those. Just go let the teachers know." Luiza prodding her sister to go with Edward.

"Oh okay." Anja feeling rather bewildered at what was going on.

Luiza and Damyan set to work, and Anja looked at Edward. "Guess the bosses have told us to get a move on." giving a shy smile.

" Well I've got the day off today. " Said Edward as they walked out the door together and headed towards the school. " Do you want Luiza learning about repairs or are you going to teach her how to use the sensor systems and the science station? I know we were talking about getting them both set up with a focused curriculum for their career paths in starfleet. Of course they should both be cross trained in the basics in case of emergency. "

They got into the turbolift to head down a few decks to the school. " Anja is there anything else you'd like to speak to me about at this time, or would you like to walk through the atrium for a bit of privacy after we talk with the teacher? " He asked.

"I really think that Luiza may need to learn all of the above just so she'd be prepared for whatever could happen." as the turbolift stopped on the level for the school, Anja had a look of dismay. "Good heavens, I just realized that I didn't need to go talk to the school to give Luiza and Damyan I can just sent a note to them." Anja rolling her eyes at herself. She sent a message to the teachers and also sent a message to Junjie stating that she will be having a personal day.

"Shall we proceed to the atrium instead?" Anja giving a soft smile.

Edward nodded at her as they turned and made their way to the Atrium, A few minutes later they arrived at their destination. They walked along for a few minutes in silence and then he turned to face her. " Anja, I'd really like to ask you something if you don't mind. " He watched her face closely as he asked her his questions.

" I noticed something today during breakfast, it was the way you were looking at me. I haven't had a woman look at me like that in several years now. You're an intelligent and attractive woman that I like and respect, But for the life of me I can't figure out why you'd be attracted to an old pirate like me. Nor can I think of anything that I could have done to deserve your attention like this. I'm not complaining mind you. Lass am I crazy to be thinking this or do you have feelings for me? " He asked her.

Anja's face turned red when Teach asked his question. Shyly she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, being quiet for a few moments finding it difficult to say anything. Then she replied, "Yes I do have feelings for you. And well, you saved us all especially my siblings when that crazy AI invaded their minds, you snapped them out of their fear." Anja looked down at her hands for a moment then looked back up into his eyes. "Is it wrong for me to be attracted to you? I've seen you around the station from time to time, you have always spoken nicely to me. You don't put on airs. Just something about you I do like a lot."

Edward winced a little at the mention of the AI. " If I never hear about that damned AI again it would suit me fine. My favorite part of that was when I got to rip the guts out of it's programming. I didn't think I did anything that special lass. The situation we were in was either we all lived or died, I did what I could so we could live. The station got settled and we all moved on with our lives. "

" I've got to tell you Anja a little of my past. The last time I was involved with a woman it didn't turn out well. I was ready to leave Starfleet and settle down on Earth, but she didn't want me to. The only reason she married me was for she could have access to a federations dependents monthly replicator rations. It turned out to be a messy divorce, that was after I found out that the whore was cheating on me with four other men. She wanted everything and it seems that one man couldn't provide enough for her wants and needs. "

" But I don't sense that in you Anja. You've always been honest with me and you deserve that much in return lass. " He faced her and placed his hands on her shoulders. " Anja, you are intelligent, caring and hardworking woman, and no I don't think your wrong for having feelings for someone, even if it's someone like me. " He said with a slight grin. " That and you damn easy on the eyes. I admire you for the way you take care of your siblings, I know it hasn't been easy for you since your parents passed away and you've done your best for them, gods know you have. "

" But to be truthful with you lass, when I was at your place today sitting there with you and your siblings, and I think the world of both Damyon and Luiza. But today I felt something that I hadn't in a long long time, like I found a place where I belong, where I can make a difference and where I matter. Does that sound strange? " He turned his head and closed his eyes for a brief moment in then turned back to face her again. Aww hells.... Forgive me lass but..." He pulled her close and gently kissed her. " Your not the only one who has felt an attraction ya know. "

Edward's kiss took Anja by surprise, but it wasn't an unpleasant one. All Anja could do was look at the man before her with a slightly goofy smile, then she went up on her tip toes and kissed him back. Anja didn't have word at the moment she could only show him. She wrapped her arms around him and nestled close, while they kissed.

Finally words came to her and she pulled back ever so slightly, "Edward." her lips barely separated from his,"I felt like you belonged there at the table as well. You have filled an empty space in my heart and the same thing for my siblings. They adore you." her eyes filled with love and stars.

Edward reached back and rubbed the back of his head. " So I guess this means we're dating now? " He asked. " Or however else you want to classify it. " He said. " Gods, Why am I feeling this way? Nervous and excited at the same time. That doesn't sound like me at all. How about you lass? How are you feeling at this time? "

"I am feeling nervous, scared, excited, and rather bubbly inside." She murmured softly. "I want to shout out my feelings towards the universe and yet hug my feelings tightly against me for fear you will disappear on me if I as much dare to blink and I wake up thinking this to be a dream." Anja kissed Edward once more. "This can't be a dream, if it is, don't let me wake up." leaning her head against his well toned chest and listening to his heartbeat.

Edward placed two fingers on Anja's chin and gently tilted her head up towards his face. " You do realize that we're on a starbase Anja. " He said teasingly. " I'm not going anywhere without transfer orders, Besides I've found a good reason to stick around here. Come to think of it I could name three good reasons to stay around here. Is that acceptable to you Anja? "

Her eyes filled with wonder, and a tender smile crossed her lips, "That would be most acceptable Edward, it truly is." giving deep sigh of contentment, rising on her tip toes once more to give him another kiss. She giggled after the kiss, realizing they had an audience, of two familiar people, Damyan and Luiza.

"Okay just how long were you two standing there? " Anja exclaimed, her cheeks turning red.

Luiza giggled, and Damyan answered. "Long enough to see that hot kiss you planted on him."

"Damyan!" Anja exclaimed.

"What? I thought it a good thing. I wanted to say get a room!" Damyan said teasing his sister with a great amount of glee.

" Get a room Eh? " Edward said as he stroked his beard. " That could be a good idea, but if we did that we'd have to put off working on the shuttle today and you'd have to go to class. And after all the trouble of talking to your teacher and your sister taking time off from work and all. " Edward teased them back. " If that's how you want it, I guess we could go with your wishes. Or we could just leave from here and head out to the shuttle bay. So tell me lad, what you want to do. " He said with a grin.

Damyan was quick to answer, "Oh no you two can get a room later, we want to go get started on that shuttle." he looked at Luiza who was keenly watching as Anja was turning several shades of red at the whole conversation.

"Sis what do you say?" Luiza asked.

Anja just squeaked out. "Shuttle lets get to the shuttle." then flashed a glare at Luiza and Damyan who just laughed at her expression.

"OKay Edward, let's get going." Luiza then stated, "And give Anja sometime to regain her composure." giving a grin.

Edward walked over and took Anja by the hand and started walking towards the turbolift. " As you wish M'lady. Course laid in for the shuttle bay and steady as she goes, besides we have work to do you an I. We've got two bright young minds to develop and educate for they're careers. "

Anja was bewildered, befuddled and feeling like things have definitely made a surprising turn, she had a boyfriend now, and her siblings approved! Not being able to speak as of yet she let Teach guide her to the turbo lift and onto where they will be working on a shuttle.

Luiza and Damyan weren't far behind, giving a laugh, feeling like their world was back in a semblance of a balance.
